I read about it on theknot.com, but I never would have believed that receiving response cards would give you so much joy! The first round of our invites went out last week and it’s sooo exciting to get response cards. I know not everyone will say yes, but so far we have yes results. Also, I was mostly worried that people will let it sit on their counter and that we would have to call them.
The stats are that 10% will say no and maybe up to 20% won’t respond. I can imagine that would drive anyone crazy! Especially since the price of our reception is based on the food people choose!
This weekend is a couple of wedding things and then next weekend is SDCC. I feel like I have a good balance of wedding/GA/life going on right now. But I also feel like July is flying past and I’m just not ready for August/September!!! eeeek! Will I be ready when the day comes?

You’ll never really be ready, even the day of. It’s just a lot of nervous energy, but it’s all worth it in the end.
It’s cool that you’re already getting responses. I remember feeling crazy about who had responded, or who we might have actually missed sending a card to. Plus, just for propriety, we purposefully sent out a bunch of invitations to people we were certain wouldn’t respond, but would be sad if they found out they hadn’t been invited (like long distance family and friends). And then I was nervous someone like that would respond – and we’d go over our budget.
When it comes down to it though, it’s a lot of unnecessary worry. People will respond or they won’t, and it typically works out the way you need it to – with just the right number of people showing up on the big day.
