I was thrilled to be invited to my first time at Knott’s Berry Farm to celebrate Knott’s MerryFarm! It’s the special time of year when the park gets changed over to celebrate the holidays.
My hubby couldn’t come because of work, so I invited my brother and his girlfriend to come with me. One of my missions was to make sure I got a picture of me with Snoopy because Snoopy is actually the first stuffed animal that I purchased for pumpkin (at Comic Con). We arrived a bit later than we wanted because of the rainy weather. But the dreariness didn’t affect anyone having fun at Knott’s Merry Farm! We walked into the reception hall and it was thrilling to see so many families having fun together at the stations. We grabbed some warm pretzels and cider while kids ran around making gingerbread cookies and Maple syrup popsicles.
During the reception there was a contest for the best Ugly Holiday Sweater. I wonder if there are ever any good holiday sweaters because every party has an ugly holiday sweater theme. Anyway, these moms (and Dad!), were great sports and had the best ugly holiday sweaters on.
We headed out to the Charles M Schulz Theatre to watch “It’s Christmas, Snoopy!”. This was a huge treat! It’s an ice skating show that not only includes the characters on ice, but also features portions of the old Christmas animation. I LOVED this show. The music is great and the sets change so effortlessly.
I posted on my Instagram a few pictures from the Ice Skating show.
Because of the rain, the Peanuts’ Holiday Parade was cancelled. It wasn’t raining hard, but I can’t imagine it would have been safe for the performers. At that point, I went shopping! There’s tons of great stores at Knott’s Berry Farm to pick up the perfect gift! Knott’s is filled with various craft booths as well, so you can purchase something very unique. I purchased the outfit below for pumpkin. Isn’t it adorable?
There is also a Calico’s Christmas Tree Lighting in the early evening which I’m sure is beautiful, but we chose to get dinner at the Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant.
Knott’s Merry Farm runs until January 6th. There is a current special on Season Passes which allows you to pay in 6 low payments. According to the map we were given, it looks like 2013 is going to be a special year at Knott’s! It’s says new attractions will be coming in 2013!
Overall the event was a blast! I loved meeting other bloggers in person, and seeing old friends! It reminds you about what is really important this holiday season and that’s spending time with your family and loved ones.
I was compensated with a free tickets to Knott’s Berry Farms for the Merry Farms event. But these opinions are my own. And I purchased the totally adorable onsie on my own. ^_^
