I have been on a quest for a baby bottle dish soap that works. I was the bottles multiple times in a day along with my pumping accessories. We use Timmy Toppee bottles, so each bottle has four parts to it (five if I use the cover).
I was using regular dish soap when I noticed a film on the bottles. It didn’t seem to be getting all the milk out. I would steam clean the bottles but they never really looked clean. Then I tried Dapple. It worked a couple of times, but then I stopped seeing results. I’m not sure why this was the case, but there was that film again.
This week, I purchased Palmolive Baby Dish Soap at Babies R Us. I am having great results with the soap, so I wanted to write about it for a new weekly post featuring a product that I love that week. In doing research for the post, I found the site EWG.org. It seems to be a site that rates things on their safety/environmental factors. Turns out that Palmolive Baby Dish soap gets a big fat F. Even worse, here is their summary:
OMG. What am I supposed to do with that knowledge? And the fact that there seems to be no redeeming environmental factor at all to the soap?
The only other soap they tested is BabyGanics Dish Dazzler, which got the grade of a D. This is the summary for that soap:
Okay so it’s only slightly better. So what do I do? My concern is this is a product I use CONSTANTLY and it goes in her mouth. I hate the idea of exposing her to harmful ingredients at the start. BUT IT WORKS!
What would you do? Continue to use a product that works? Do you have a product you recommend specifically for washing baby bottles?
