On October 6, I plan to be part of the effort to break the Babywearing World Record. Moms, carriers and their babies will be taking over LA Live in an effort to break the world record. Personally, I can’t wait to see all the different wraps and carriers people will use.
Babywearing is more than just a fun thing to do for me. It’s a necessity. With my pain issues, I am unable to hold Pumpkin for long periods of time. Carriers, assist me with being able to hold her close and pain free while we are out.
There are some market standards like a Moby Wrap, or a Soft Structured Carrier (SSC) like an Ergo. But because Babywearing is such an essential for me, I dove in with research and an urge to try it all and see what works best. Through my “research” I have found products, informational sites, Facebook and local groups that can all assist with making Babywearing not only easy, but fun and fashionable. Oh yes…fashionable. While you may only see a few choices at Babies R Us or Target, trust me…there is a world out there to discover. What is great about that is it really allows you to have fun with it.
In this series, I plan to breakdown various products that have or haven’t worked for me. Pros and cons and showcase where you can find more information. Babywearing creates happier and healthier babies but it also makes for confident and happier parents. It’s definitely something that can work for every parent and their baby. The only barrier I have found is that you have to be willing to try because you won’t know right away what will work for you. Babywearing products are a trial and error process but I will try to help guide and inform you to make it extremely fun and maybe even addictive (that’s where I am at!).
These articles will coincide with International Babywearing week, October 7-13, 2013. Grab your baby, your wrap or SSC and get ready for some fun!
