Becoming organized is so important to achieving some sort of balance in your life. I find that the more I use my Erin Condren planner, the less stressed I feel. I don’t always catch everything but it’s a great way to have a high level view of what is coming and to minimize surprises. Plus designing your pages is so much fun! It doesn’t take as long as you may think, and it will make you smile every week.
Here is a video overview of my Erin Condren Life Planner. This is the second year I have ordered from her. I love her designs and the way the planner is organized.
Now let’s talk design! It may deem overwhelming, but setting aside an hour or less a week to do a simple design and plan your week can be fun “me time”. Get a glass of wine and use these tips to add in some fun to your week.
Get some washi
Washi is like a thin tape typically with designs. You can get some from art supply stores or online. There are even Facebook groups where you can buy samples of washi. Washi can help set the color tone for your week. Or it can symbolize laundry.
Stickers are a fun and easy way to add design. Stickers can be purchased at craft stores but also there are great finds at Dollar Tree. On Etsy, people make custom stickers that you can order. There are Hydrate stickers to symbolize how much water to get every day.Over at Mama’s got it together is a great tutorial on how to make your own stickers!
Get a month Kit
Make your own!
I used my Silhouette Cameo to create shapes that fit in my daily view. Then I put the shapes through my Xyron Sticker Maker and instant stickiness that lasts to put in my planner.
Below is my design for this week. I typically start with a color or a theme and go from there. It’s hard one handed so this week is a little sparse. I’m still missing some activities and things I have to do but it’s a start and you can see how simple washi and some stickers can make your week fun!
I’m giving away a $15 gift certificate for ErinCondren.com. It has to be used by the 30th of September. But I wanted to give you a start to help your commitment to organization! Good luck!
