The holidays are a whirlwind of parties, great food and friends. I love when you walk into someone’s house and the fragrance in the air is winter. Candles go a long way toward setting a mood for a party and with Glade® Candles it’s easier than ever to set the #GladeHolidayMood.
The cute setup at Ralph’s (might be at your local Kroger) helped remind me that I wanted to pick up a new scent for the holidays. The scents in this special Glade® Winter Collection are Sparkling Spruce™,Apple Cinnamon Cheer™, and Frosted Cookie Party™. I love the packaging on these. Images of winter fun and holiday cheer.
This will be our first holidays at home, so I let pumpkin pick her favorite scent. The start of our family holiday traditions. She kept asking to smell Frosted Cookie Party™ and that was what we picked as a family. Pumpkin was so intrigued by the smell, I can’t wait until she sees it all lit up!
I decided to try out some mock settings to show some easy DIY crafts you can create for the holidays. With the scent from the Glade® Winter Collection setting the mood, it was easy to get in the holiday spirit.
I love Washi tape because it’s a fun and easy way to decorate. I’m still waiting on my holiday Washi tape to come in…yes I order my Washi, so I used a silver chevron design and placed the tape around the top half of the wine bottle. I haven’t quite figured out how to peel the labels off a wine bottle easily (especially since my surgery), but it’s easy to place Washi tape right over the labels. Bam! Instant decoration.
I then cut out snowflakes to match with the Frosted Cookie Party™ theme. Scrapbook paper can be used in a variety of ways to easily make decorations. I took a glitter scrapbook page, cut out a snowflake and tied it around the base of a wine glass. Making various “tags” you can allow your guests to identify their glass throughout the night.
Continuing with the snowflakes, I used my Silhouette Cameo to create vinyl snowflakes. You can also pick up vinyl stickers at any craft store. I added the snowflakes to decorate the wine bottle and the Glade® Candle. When you place vinyl onto the Glade® Candle, place it carefully, the candle side does curve which makes it slightly more difficult to lay the vinyl down smoothly.
Here are steps for creating a holiday placemat:
Get a piece of holiday scrapbook paper
Cut out images on the page.
I used my Silhouette Cameo to create a more complicated holiday design, but you can easily cut snowflakes or snowmen.
Place scrapbook paper on top of a white piece of paper, glue the sides
and there you have it….a unique placemat for your holiday party!
This is only one placement, but I can quickly make a table setting for six easily and prepare for my holiday party in a stress free environment while taking in the Glade® Christmas scents. Find coupons for Glade on 12/7/14 in most Sunday newspapers in the coupon section, you can also find digital coupons for Glade® on coupons.com.
