We are so happy the Underwood Farms is open again! The best part is seeing how differently pumpkin experiences the farm now that she can run and choose what to see next. Right now the ponies and the Train are her favorite rides to go on. We also play in the wooden trains (that she can climb in) which is new for pumpkin. She never noticed them before and now she can pretend to drive the train. I love seeing the joy in her face when we pretend we are going for a ride.
Today we saw brand new baby goats! I believe Underwood Farms has 23 baby goats, 5 lambs and one calf. Two more baby goats were born today. They are so cute to watch. I wish pumpkin had more patience because it was cute to see them try to stand/walk. As a mom, I went and bought her $.50 of snacks because I’m sure she’s hungry after labor. As we left I noticed that she was eating her placenta. A reminder how beautiful birth is and that eating the placenta is a normal part of that birth (at least for goats).
We purchased a Season pass which allows us to go any time pumpkin wants to visit. I think it offers us a discount for their big events like the upcoming Easter event. Easter event starts March 28-April 6th. There are a ton of events from pictures with the Easter Bunny, Easter Egg Hunts, Egg dying, various food and much much more. We’ll definitely be there.
When was the last time you visited Underwood Farms?
