We love taking Pumpkin to Knott’s Berry Farm. Every time we take her we get a new experience. It might be a new ride we try her on or an interaction with Snoopy (which she LOVES) and in the end, we have great family memories. We’re going to visit Knott’s Berry Farm in a few weeks and it’s amazing how many new activities they have this summer!
We always start with Camp Snoopy. Charlie Brown’s Happy Campers show starts June 14th involving all the characters on a backpacking adventure! After the show, we’ll stop by for pictures and hugs with all the Peanuts gang!
I’m hoping to try the Camp Snoopy Pig Pens Mud Buggies ride with pumpkin during this visit. We always look at it and say not yet… but I think she’s ready. She’s also a little bit taller which makes me feel better about putting her on the ride. What is her favorite ride so far? It’s the Balloon Race in Camp Snoopy.
Then we’ll go to the new Blockbuster Beagle! on ice. Snoopy and his Peanuts buddies “go Hollywood” bringing Walk of Fame glamour, dazzling movie lot escapades and California excitement to a new ice show. Pumpkin absolutely loves the ice skating shows. We enjoy the music and the skaters are really good! After every show, Pumpkin tries to mimic some of the moves she saw in the show. I think we definitely have a future skater in our family.
I am really excited to try Knott’s Berry Farm’s new 4-D adventure, Voyage to the Iron Reef. Based on the concept art it looks like a Steampunk or Bioshock type adventure where you have to save Knott’s from the mysterious creatures emerging from beneath the Boardwalk. Not only is it a great 3-D adventure, but for us gamers you use a freeze ray to take on the creatures. This means that Matt and I will be riding this multiple times as we talk smack about our scores. You gamers know how that is. Knott’s Berry Farm also displays the high scores on the Reef’s Hall of Fame. Challenge accepted…
Here are some details about the new 4-D adventure:
- Easter eggs of various iconic treasures from Knott’s past are hidden throughout the ride and interact with the blast of a freeze ray (Hint: Look for the famous Roaring 20s sign!)
- Look for the hidden Snoopy in the all new ride dock mural
- Total number of pixels used on this ride: 2.3 million
Here’s a video preview on Voyage to the Iron Reef:
We don’t get to stay very late because as it is Pumpkin does not get a nap during Knott’s visits, so we want to make sure to reduce the risk of tantrums. But there is so much more to see. There are daily music shows that go late into the evening like Vertical Impact & Vertical Impact Geared Up Show, Salsa Bands,Big Band Swingin’ Sundays, and Boardwalk Dance Party Monday and Tuesday evenings.
You may want to consider getting a Knott’s Season Pass Pass. Not only is it super affordable with plans starting at $86.00 or four payments of just $21.50 (plus applicable taxes and fees) but it also gives you more opportunities to get on the Reef’s Hall of Fame and keep your spot.
Hope to see you there!
